Martin Keown has warned Arsenal and Man Utd that their top four ambitions are in danger

Martin Keown has warned Arsenal and Manchester United that the Premier League duo are in a vulnerable position in the top-four race.

Liverpool are in fourth place in the Premier League table and four points above Jose Mourinho’s side ahead of their clash against Everton in the Merseyside derby in Saturday’s early kick-off.

Indeed, Jurgen Klopp’s men could be seven points clear of the Red Devils by the time Manchester United kick off against West Brom at Old Trafford at 15.00 BST on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester United, however, have played two Premier League games less than Liverpool and have 11 games remaining to overhaul their bitter rivals in the top-four race.

Arsenal, on the other hand, are a further six points back but have only played 27 Premier League games like Manchester United.

Arsene Wenger’s outfit will host third-placed Manchester City at The Emirates in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon. Former Arsenal defender Keown believes Liverpool are in a more comfortable position than Arsenal and Manchester United in the hunt for a Champions League qualification spot.

“If Liverpool lose against Everton on Saturday, it throws up a very interesting situation,” Keown told the Daily Mail.

“It used to be the case that Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United were fighting for the title every season, and now they’re fighting for a place in the top four.

“There’s a chance Liverpool could slip up, but Arsenal and United are the most vulnerable. They both have two games in hand but you would rather have the points at this stage of the season.”
