On This Day In Arsenal's History

On This Day In 1919 The complaint against Fulham by Henry Norris was heard by the Committee of the London Combination.

Despite being a director of both Arsenal and Fulham, Norris had made the allegations that in a London Victory Cup match between the two sides Fulham had played 'not one, but half a team's worth of ineligible players'.

The Committee ordered the game to be replayed at Highbury on the 10th of April but Fulham appealed and won and went through to the semi-final.

It looks as if Norris didn’t know about this appeal from Fulham, and he was not invited to the London Combination meeting as he should have been, given that he launched the original appeal.

On This Day In 1993 We can always take pleasure in a win over the neighbours in our shadow but it is sweeter in a cup match and on this day in 1993 a Tony Adams header won the FA Cup semi-final against the enemy. 1-0 to the Arsenal!
