Arsenal v Bayern Munich Match Preview
Arsenal will be hoping to avoid further embarrassment in the Champions League as any hope of progressing past Bayern Munich would require a miracle.
A 5-1 loss in the last-16 first-leg encounter looks likely to condemn the Gunners to a seventh consecutive exit at this stage of the competition, meaning Arsene Wenger's will need to score at least four goals without reply to reach the quarter-finals.
The first-leg loss prompted further fierce speculation over Wenger's future beyond the end of the season, while Standard Sport understands it is increasingly unlikely that Alexis Sanchez will remain at the club after being dropped against Liverpool.
Arsenal have not offered Sanchez a new contract for several weeks as a result of the souring relationship between player and club, but Wenger will likely need the Chilean if he retains any faint hopes of Champions League progress.
TEAM NEWS
Both Arsene Wenger's and Alexis Sanchez's Arsenal futures could well be defined by whether the manager restores ther forward to the starting XI when Bayern come to London.
Sanchez is perhaps the only Arsenal player capable of turning the tie around given Mesut Ozil has already been ruled out due to illness, while Alex Iwobi is likely to once again deputise at No.10.
Aaron Ramsey was back in the squad against Liverpool and could feature on Tuesday night.
Bayern captain Philipp Lahm is suspended after picking up a caution in the first leg, but Carlo Ancelotti will likely start Mats Hummels, Xabi Alonso, Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery after resting the quartet for Saturday's 3-0 win against FC Cologne.
